Went with my sister and had a lovely time. We were lucky enough to see the northen lights and truly appreciated their northern lights alarm (even if we were already tracking them and awake).||Pros: The cabins are what we went for. The glass roofs and the ability to heat the snow off the roofs was amazing for nighttime star viewing and seeing the northern lights while in our beds. The food was surprisingly good for a buffet and even as a vegetarian I was able to fill up every meal. Wifi was fast and efficient. Was able to download a book with ease when I accidently read thru my first one too fast. The activities were fun and staff was very nice.||Medium: The shower is only 15min of hot water. Wasn't a problem for us but something to note. They could also use a shelf in the shower and some hooks for our towels to dry on in the bathroom. ||Cons: It seems most of the cabins could use weather stripping on the doors (we heard others mention this to the front desk staff). Cold air would come in and so we had to hike up the heat which isn't very eco friendly. |||Overall I'd highly recommend.

This was a bucket list trip for our family and we chose the Northern Lights Village based on personal recommendation. ||We booked two lodges between us and the accommodation is great - big wide glass roofs over half the lodge so you can kick back and watch the Aurora Borealis while it's minus 20 outside. It's quite something. ||The resort offers a wide range of snow-based activities but be prepared to spend - it isn't cheap. For example, two snowmobiles for the midnight Aurora hunting safari was roughly €450. That said, we enjoyed all of them. The staff couldn't be nicer and helpfully all spoke fluent English. ||The only letdown - and the reason this is a four star review rather than a five star - is the food. It's not terrible (in fact the breakfast pancakes are really nice) but it's pretty unimaginative and after two or three days it all starts to look and smell the same. I guarantee after a couple of days you'll be craving something different and unfortunately, nice though the local village of Saariselka is, it doesn't have a huge range of dining options. ||Saariselka is only a five minute walk away and has a little supermarket, a couple of bars (including what claims to be the most northerly Irish bar in the world), a couple of cafes and a bowling alley as well as some souvenir shops. ||Absolutely loved our trip to the Northern Lights Village.

My wife and I spent 4 nights in one of these fantastic Arctic Cabins in January 2024. We saw the Aurora on 2 evenings/nights in mid-January.||The overall experience was great, the people (!), the interior, the activities, the food ... I can highly recommend this place. We took the Reindeer Tour, a Husky Safari and did "aurora hunting" with snowshoes. We don't like motorized activities, so we skipped these, but they are available as well.||You get equipped with appropriate thermo snow suits, gloves, and boots. We brought our own stuff, but believe me, you want to test their equipment as well.|The lounge and dining room have a great atmosphere, only when a new busload of tourists arrives, it can get crowed at breakfast and dinner. Fortunately, most are individual travelers and some families.||We loved the cabins. The bed is beautifully placed under the glass roof. The heating works fast, so even if you get in cold, it warms you up quickly. It's cosy.||Insider tip: try to get one of the cabins with the low numbers in the row close to the woods (numbers 1 to ... 12 I guess it was). In these cabins, you look at snow-covered trees and the heavens above, and nobody will be able to peek into your cabin from an elevated position.||If you like animals as we do, you can try to catch one of the reindeer herders or the husky people outside of the activities. They were very friendly and gave us some personal insights, including close contact with some of the animals. Another great experience. However, don't step into the animal areas without their prior consent.||The rest of our time we spent walking around Saariselkä and surroundings, all highly covered up with deep snow. Although on some days the sun did not rise above the horizon, it was surprisingly bright during daytime. ||Overall, this was one of greatest trips we did so far!

Booked the 5 night full board package. Daily itinerary was packed and filled with fun and unique adventures-Snowshoe, snowmobile, XC skiing, sauna, as well as evening aurora viewing trips. We were able to see aurora on 2 of the nights, which was an amazing experience. Food was decent but buffet items were very repetitive. Staff was gracious and energetic, but as always some are better than others. |Suggestions for ownership- You need to provide staff proper lighting for night excursions as cell phone lights don't cut it. (In fact, I would recommend bringing your own headlamp for walks back to your cabin and evening trips are dark). You should sell shirts/hoodies with your logo given this is such a unique experience and location. I would have loved to purchase something.

Amazing experience! Would highly recommend! Can’t wait to go back!

Clean, warm cabins, impeccable facilities, wide variety of very good food!
The activities in the packages are very well thought, the guides a pleasure to interact with. Highly recommend all if them! The photography workshop is great way to start the staying and understand the auroras. The safaris, aurora “hunting”, ice fishing, snowmobile … each activity was amazing. And if you’re nice, you might even find Santa that has a gift for you.
Everyone there is a professional, always focused on making the experiences the best possible!
We saw auroras in 3 different nights!
Thank you, Northern Lights Village team! You’ve transformed a childhood dream into a real life fairytale!

We did the Santa package and it was amazing. The food was delicious, the staff was incredibly friendly and we had an awesome time. Expensive, but everything was included and it was worth every penny. We had a six year old and a one year old with us and it was perfect for both of them as well. Plenty of family activities for all of us. Highly recommend.

3 action packed nights here and loved all the activities on offer. Husky safari and Reindeer Sleigh ride both top notch - guides make it really special and interesting.|Could not fault the service and food at the village - outstanding! Staff very welcoming and helpful. |Use the warm suits they provide and bring at least 2 layers of your own. |The heated Sleigh for the Aurora hunt was a bit diabolical - difficult to get into and uncomfortable - use another option!|Portage provided and your bags are delivered to the delightful cabins. So warm and clean, and with the Aurora alarm set, you are sure to see the Northern lights.
